Directors who remind us that what we commonly refer to horror, fantasy or gore is not only a genre used to thrill at parties popcorn (although I have nothing against, I would say that's Cool!), or a mere spectacle perverse and obscene. No, sometimes it is much more than that and there or critical outcry, we have even a complete work.

is the case with The Last House on the Left , released in 1972. Wes Craven is one of those filmmakers who are trying, daring and that in at least two of these films, in my opinion the most remarkable of his long movie career, and even the history of cinema in general. Both films are for me the last house on the left and The Hills Have Eyes (again, everything is in the title and zap especially the remake of Alexandre Aja!).

Craven, throughout his career has always in fact filmed reality that the most abrupt, even Freddy is fantastic or a pretext, the declination of storytelling and Jungian archetypes (in a word a bad wolf and poor girls, the base of everything, to simplify things). For the subject of Craven has always been that ... The sociological basis of most of these films, at least most successful of these again, the family and especially the destruction of the family unit, and the mirage that it proposes. Craven's work looks at one of the most minimal units of society, the family cocoon then, and shows how it is dust and how most of the time the individual is far more animal what he thinks with cruelty in addition (on this The Hills Have Eyes is his most successful and unfortunately this aspect is completely erased by Aja). But here, the face of the horror is Human All Too Human ... I told you earlier, Craven delivers a devilishly realistic film which reinforces the cruelty of this film. The rest is history, the two girls are being raped and tortured. It was in this part that has withheld criticism of the time, a vulgar film perverse thrill for the mentally ill. A simple Rape and Revenge (you ravish me I revenge) ... I'm not a connoisseur of the genre and I think that apart from hanging matter I spit on your grave , I have not seen any ... Unless you consider The old gun like a Rape and Revenge ...
Rape and revenge, then, a film that puts us in place of the voyeur, which requires us frontal view of the horror ... But where such a film as I spit on your grave rightly adopts blabla linear the mink violent and voyeuristic, Craven transcends the genre and yet another stroke of genius goes far!
This stroke of genius is the opposition, the confrontation of two worlds, through the use of assembly and especially the parallel connection. Simply put two actions from different places but at the same time its shown successively on the screen. Here in this case, still in the desire to tackle the family unit, Craven in a parallel between the family and the Krug family Collinwood. Thus, while the parents of Mary innocently preparing his birthday, their daughter is raped. Protects the family do anything! Subtlety of Craven, which means failure to use all the great resources of cinema to make The Last House on the Left a superb film.

Opposition thus two families. One easy, etc ... The rich man living in a tiny apartment, kissing each other before we would even be entitled to ask the question of inbreeding, drinking ... etc. You get the picture ... Two types of families, but none is better than the other ... There is nothing good in the world of Craven, rejecting both the lifestyle of 60's (hippie we say) and both the lifestyle bourgeois (it is a shorter and hopefully the idea is still included!) ... With Craven, everything is ruined. For responding to the diagram Rape and Revenge, comes after the rape revenge. And there were the parents of poor little Mary who show ingenuity to avenge their daughter animal, cruelty is no better than c'elle Krug family ... This little bourgeois family is right-minded shows violent, the woman knows how to attract men (and I'll go there as the food at the pool!) and his brave family doctor knows to create traps, like those that American youth were asked and subjected to same time in Vietnam ... We now understand the greatness of the film ... Committed Craven, whistle-blower and pessimism! The man is no better than an animal, man is a wolf to man and director at the same time refers back to back the U.S. and the Viet Minh, the Ugly and the judge, the offender and victim ! By scratching the family unit is a whole system that attacks Craven and everything collapses. But Craven

outbid the troubling when injected into the inhumanity of mankind ... Craven book so, in my humble opinion, a great movie, a complete work that would be too easily pigeonholed as just a film offends. Especially since the pictures are beautiful, made with little means (some are porn actors and production by Sean S Cunningham future director of Friday the 13th at the time specialized in porn!) but has to be pretty damn convincing.
Some images are still of pure beauty ... And they are these images? C'elle of nature that continues its life as if nothing had happened, what fucking good of humanity, or rather the non-humanity that runs through the crowd and the pit! Only in
The Hills Have Eyes that Craven will go as far with this family uprooted arguing with his caravan in a desert disturbed by nuclear tests ... I'll be back on this film shortly after. Let us have the time to recover from the last house on the left.

Film is inherently magical.

In the room, complete darkness.

in heart with stories sometimes sublime and other times you spin the nausea but never useless ... Certainly this is done because should be done, what needed to be said is said ...
A film is a small town that is activated before us, screenwriters, cinematographers, electricians to light up with smiles and tears ... For Ms. Deneuve is eternally young, so that Marilyn never goes away, so that you alpacino mouse finally ...

My tastes go more toward the fantasy movies, horror or gore! You have been warned ...
But in my imagination (and my love of film buff!) Alongside Romero Godard, Resnais alongside Dario Argento, Mario Bava alongside Truffaut etc. ... All that to say I love the cinema at large and especially the cinema said gender ... That does not mean much in either ... Polar, Yellow, Bis and consort ... Anyway ... I like everything
catalog is some highbrow filmmakers boring (which they probably are) then it should sometimes give way to watch them just like that and we catalog of other "popular" with all that it is pejorative in the mouth of that, then they said sometimes much higher and much stronger property thinking that dare not speak!
